SETS is a hearing protection brand designed for the club and festival scene in Aotearoa. Founded to make earplugs feel less like a medical product and more like part of the outfit, the brand sits at the intersection of nightlife, fashion, and personal care. This was a full brand build — from logo to product visuals — shaped around a sleek, minimal identity that people would actually want to wear.

Challenge

Most earplugs look and feel like something you want to hide. The challenge here was to completely reframe that — to make a product that could confidently sit alongside accessories and essentials in someone’s bag or pocket. It needed to feel bold but refined, simple but intentional, and capable of holding its own in a very image-conscious environment.

Approach

We started with a modular, geometric logo — a mark that worked cleanly in static form but also came alive in motion. The brand direction focused heavily on tactility and finish, with a visual world built around the product capsule itself. We rendered it, lit it, animated it, and brought it into 3D contexts where it felt aspirational but grounded. Everything about the brand system was designed to feel like an object — not a poster.

Output

SETS launched with a full brand identity, motion suite, 3D renders, and a clean, capsule-led web experience. The physical product — a minimal matte case containing soft earplugs — was treated with the same level of detail as a high-end wearable. Every asset was designed to reinforce that idea.

This was one of the first major 3D-led projects in the studio — and a deeply satisfying one to deliver. Huge thanks to Emily and Grace, whose vision and attention to detail shaped every part of the process. Since launch, SETS has grown from a niche idea into a well-known staple across New Zealand’s live event space.
